This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

The Heatons shareholders’ action over Sports Direct’s proposed purchase was adjourned in the High Court, as reported on 17 December 2015.

Katipo Ltd, Mark Heaton, Hugh Heaton and John O’Neill claim Sports Direct International Plc failed to comply with parts of the share-sale agreement, including an alleged tax certificate requirement.

Following discussions, the parties agreed how the case should proceed, and Mr Justice Paul Gilligan agreed to fix the full action for hearing in early March. The shareholders’ injunction application sought payment of the full share price without a Capital Gains Tax deduction; Sports Direct opposed it.
