This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Hazel Fitzpatrick received an eight-month suspended sentence for identifying a boy convicted of Ana Kriégel’s murder at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on 18 November 2021. The offence was posting a picture identifying Boy A on Facebook in breach of the Children Act 2001.

Judge Karen O’Connor set a headline term of 12 months’ imprisonment, reduced it to eight months and suspended the sentence on condition Fitzpatrick keep the peace for that period. The judge said Fitzpatrick knew of the court order and knew her actions were wrong.

Fitzpatrick had pleaded guilty to the offence. The court was told she had no previous convictions, had co-operated fully with the Garda investigation and was suffering from anxiety and depression at the time.
