Greg Lordan was resentenced to three years in prison, with the final two years suspended, at the Court of Appeal on 14 May 2019. He was required to enter a good behaviour bond for the suspended period and undertook to do so before being taken into custody.
Lordan pleaded guilty at Cork Circuit Criminal Court to possessing child pornography at his Clonakilty home on 16 February 2017. The proceedings were reported on 14 May 2019.
Judge Seán O’Donnabháin had imposed a wholly suspended three-year sentence on 9 November 2018. The Court of Appeal found it unduly lenient following an appeal by the Director of Public Prosecutions. Mr Justice Patrick McCarthy said the sentencing judge had erred in suspending the entire sentence.
