Gerry Harte’s eight-year sentence for sexually abusing three siblings was reduced by 18 months after a successful appeal, CrimeWorld reported on February 22, 2026.

The appeal followed Harte’s guilty pleas to 15 counts of indecent assault, five relating to each sibling. In October 2024, the Central Criminal Court imposed an eight-year sentence after setting a global headline sentence of 11 years and reducing it to account for mitigation, including his guilty plea and lack of previous convictions.
