Franck Lamour received a fully suspended five-year sentence at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on 2 June 2021. The offences happened at his home in Clonskeagh on 7 April 2020.
Lamour pleaded guilty to production of a knife and threat to kill or cause serious harm.
Judge Pauline Codd said the offences were very serious and identified the knife, the threat to kill and physical violence as aggravating factors. She said the headline sentence would be eight years in prison, but took account of Lamour’s guilty plea, mental health history and previous clean record. She described his conduct as an apparent aberration.
The sentence was suspended in full on condition that Lamour keep the peace, engage with the Probation Service for two years and attend psychiatric appointments in Ireland for as long as he resides in the country.
