Enoch Burke’s school discipline case was continuing in the High Court. The proceedings were reported on 29 March 2023.

Former principal Niamh McShane said Burke publicly challenged her request that staff use a student’s new name and gender-neutral pronouns during a school anniversary service on 21 June 2022. She said he later approached her twice at dinner and that she felt “kind of hunted”.

McShane said she considered the incident gross misbehaviour and decided to begin disciplinary proceedings. The school had brought the case against Burke, and the report said it would continue the following day.
