Enoch Burke was returned to Mountjoy Prison for contempt of court by the High Court on 22 March 2024, after refusing to comply with an order to stay away from Wilson’s Hospital School in Co Westmeath.
Justice Mark Sanfey had offered to release Burke temporarily while the school was on holiday, but Burke refused to address the proposal. After the judge directed that he be removed for repeatedly interrupting and refusing to stop, the judge said he had no option but to send him back to prison. The matter was adjourned for further review in June.
