Enoch Burke removed from High Court over disruption

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Enoch Burke was physically removed from the High Court in Dublin on 13 February 2023 after disrupting proceedings before Mr Justice Brian O’Moore.

The judge had refused to let Burke raise a matter concerning Wilson’s Hospital School because his case was not listed and he had not obtained the required court document. After Burke continued speaking over the judge despite warnings, gardaí removed him from the courtroom.

The removal followed a similar intervention on 10 February, when Burke and his sister Ammi were removed from the High Court for interrupting a sitting.

Hours later, Court of Appeal president George Birmingham warned that Burke’s appeal against orders including an injunction barring him from attending the school might not be entertained while he remained in contempt. The reports said the appeal was due to proceed on Thursday.
