Emma Fehily’s forgery sentence ruled unduly lenient

By Gráinne Nolan

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Emma Fehily’s one-year fully suspended sentence for forgery was ruled unduly lenient by the Court of Appeal on 23 June 2021.

Fehily, of Carrigaline, Co Cork, had pleaded guilty to two fraud offences involving forged character references submitted during sentencing.

The court deferred resentencing until 26 July 2021 so lawyers could provide medical evidence relating to mitigation claims.

This report covers an earlier stage of the case. Later developments are not reported here.
