Emma Fehily to be resentenced over fraud at Court of Appeal
This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.
Emma Fehily’s one-year fully suspended sentence for two fraud offences was ruled unduly lenient by the Court of Appeal on 24 June 2021.
The court postponed resentencing until 26 July so her lawyers could provide medical evidence. Fehily had pleaded guilty to forging character references used in an earlier sentencing hearing.
The judge said the guilty plea was the only real mitigation and that the court’s decision to let Fehily remain at liberty until resentencing should give her no comfort.
