Eamon Ronald Harrison loses appeal over manslaughter extradition

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Eamon Ronald Harrison lost his extradition appeal over manslaughter charges in the Court of Appeal on 12 June 2020.

He is wanted in the United Kingdom over 39 manslaughter counts and one count of conspiracy to assist unlawful immigration.

In January 2020, the High Court in Dublin ordered his extradition. The Court of Appeal upheld that decision, with Ms Justice Aileen Donnelly finding that the European Arrest Warrant provided enough information to establish correspondence between the offences.

The extradition order was not to be perfected until 10 days had elapsed after the judgment.

Ms Justice Donnelly said that if Mr Harrison wanted a stay on the surrender order to seek leave to appeal to the Supreme Court, he should give notice of his intention within five days of the judgment.
