Dylan Clements jailed for cocaine and cannabis dealing

By Niamh Kearney

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Dylan Clements was jailed for possession of cocaine and cannabis for sale or supply at the Court of Appeal on 24 October 2024, receiving a three-year sentence with the final 18 months suspended.

The appeal court ruled the original fully suspended sentence was unduly lenient. Clements had pleaded guilty to one count of possessing drugs for sale or supply; four other counts were taken into consideration.

The court said the amount and value of the drugs, and the fact that Clements was engaged in dealing, were important sentencing factors. The drugs seized were valued at more than €28,000.

The suspended portion was conditional on Clements entering a bond to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, engaging with addiction services and attending all probation appointments.
