Dublin teen jailed over Wicklow drug offences
The Wicklow PeopleA 19-year-old man caught with cocaine and cannabis for sale or supply has been jailed, after repeatedly failing to engage with the probation service, despite several chances from the court.
Adam Travers, with an address at 28 Keepers Road, Drimnagh appeared at Bray District Court charged with possession of drugs for the sale or supply, involving cocaine and cannabis, and two other charges of simple possession. The incident took place on June 27, 2025 at Farrankelly Road in Greystones.
The court heard in July that Travers was struggling to engage with the probation service. Judge David Kennedy expressed scepticism about Travers’s character in July, saying that “any messing around from Mr Travers and I will impose a sentence”.
In October, the court heard that a probation report was now available. In the report it stated that Travers had missed several appointments with the probation service.
Michael O’Connor, counsel for the defendant, informed the court that his client had started employment and was working ten-hour days, six days a weeks.
“My client was afraid of losing his job,” said Mr O’Connor.
However, the court heard that Travers has since lost his job due to a medical issue.
“I have given you enough chances,” stated Judge Kennedy.
He was sentenced to nine months imprisonment on all charges.
