This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.
At a July 2024 Workplace Relations Commission hearing, former Dublin Coach driver Nico Holloway alleged that he was dismissed after raising concerns about vehicle defects. The company disputed his account, saying his probation was unsatisfactory and that he had discussed a mass walkout with other drivers.
Holloway testified that a coach door opened while he was on the M7 and that he was told to close it and continue. He also described concerns involving wipers, seat belts, steering and other defects. These were allegations in evidence.
The adjudicator adjourned the hearing overnight after hearing from another former driver. The case was due to continue the next day with evidence from a current driver, followed by the company’s defence.
This case may have concluded differently. The outcome has not yet been confirmed by a public source we could find.
