Driver arrested after ‘highly dangerous’ hard-shoulder overtaking in Donegal
A driver has been charged after undertaking a number of vehicles along the hard shoulder of the N13 in Donegal.
The incident was detected by members of the Buncrana Roads Policing Unit while they were on patrol last night.
Gardaí said the car was observed before it was stopped by officers. The driver was subsequently arrested and charged and is due to appear before the courts.
Gardaí have warned motorists of the potentially serious consequences of taking dangerous risks on the roads.
A spokesperson said: “This type of driving is highly dangerous and puts other road users and pedestrians at unnecessary risk."
