Superintendent David Taylor’s challenge over alleged Garda data breaches was adjourned at the High Court on 29 February 2016.
Taylor, a former Garda Press Office chief, sought permission to challenge an inquiry into alleged breaches of the Garda Síochána Act, data-protection law and Garda discipline.
The inquiry concerns sensitive information passed to media about a childcare matter in south County Dublin on 21 October 2013.
Mr Justice Séamus Noonan directed that the application be heard on notice to the Garda Commissioner and the Director of Public Prosecutions, then adjourned it for two weeks.
Taylor’s counsel said he wanted injunctions halting the inquiry and a report addressing concerns about the integrity of evidence gathered by investigators.
