David Hall to contest Revenue freezing orders in High Court

By Fionn Kelly

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

The High Court adjourned Revenue’s freezing-order application concerning Animal Heaven Animal Rescue on 10 April 2019, with the injunction remaining in place. David Hall intends to contest Revenue’s claims concerning the Kerry charity.

Hall’s counsel said he intended to provide a sworn statement addressing factual matters and had concerns about damage to his reputation. Counsel said unrelated third parties outside the case had posted incorrect allegations about Hall online, including allegations of fraud.

Revenue agreed to the adjournment but said it would contest any suggestion that it had acted improperly. Mr Justice Senan Allen adjourned the matter to a date in May. Revenue’s application relates to a €145,000 debt and a proposed transfer of the charity’s land to another animal-welfare organisation.
