This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Daragh Coyne was ordered before the High Court over alleged contempt on 5 June 2020, after claims he interfered with Milltownpass Bog in Co Westmeath.

The National Parks and Wildlife Service alleges that Mr Coyne breached orders preventing unauthorised works on the National Heritage Area and requiring him to remove a gate. The court heard that he denies wrongdoing.

Wildlife rangers said piles on the land contained gardening waste, invasive cherry laurel, scrap metal and unsealed plastic oil tanks. Ms Justice Mary Rose Gearty directed that Mr Coyne be brought before the court the following week to answer the contempt claim.
