The Court of Appeal increased Daniel Murray’s sentence for manslaughter and arson intending to endanger life on 9 December 2022. Mr Justice Patrick McCarthy found the original sentence unduly lenient and imposed 11 years, suspending the final 18 months for 18 months, leaving nine-and-a-half years in custody. The sentences remained concurrent.
