Craig Coyle was sentenced at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on 17 February 2025 to three years in prison, with the final 18 months suspended. Judge Pauline Codd imposed conditions including engagement with the Probation Services and no contact with the woman.

Coyle pleaded guilty to threatening to publish intimate images of the woman without her consent on 23 September 2023, harassment between September and December 2023, and two charges of trespass at her home on 23 December 2023 and 19 January 2024. He had no previous convictions.

Judge Codd said the nature and degree of the harassment, the trespasses and Coyle’s contact with the woman’s ex-husband were aggravating factors. In mitigation, she considered his guilty plea, psychological issues, difficult background and remorse. A probation report had expressed concern about his insight into his conduct and its impact on the woman.

The proceedings were reported on 17 February 2025.
