This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Conor Williamson was awarded €18,000 by the Workplace Relations Commission for penalisation after reporting alleged animal welfare and veterinary offences, in a decision reported on 5 October 2022.

The WRC found his reports to his employer and gardaí about the euthanasia of two dogs amounted to protected disclosures. It found he faced an unwarranted investigation, disciplinary process and suspension, and that colleagues’ statements bore the hallmarks of an orchestrated campaign to intimidate and bully him.
