The court heard that the store at Brennanstown has a 25-year lease. An engineer gave evidence that the premises at both Circle K locations were compliant with all relevant planning, fire safety and structural requirements.
The application was properly advertised the court was told.
A manager from Circle K gave evidence regarding the company’s procedures for the sale of alcohol. He told the court that his role would include overseeing staff training and ensuring strict compliance with licensing laws. He stressed that alcohol would not be sold to minors and that age-verification policies would be enforced.
He also noted that CCTV systems are in place at both premises and that footage would be made available to gardaí if required.
Having considered the evidence and noting the absence of any objections, Judge David Kennedy granted both applications.
