Former 2FM presenter Chris Greene withdrew his employment claims against RTÉ at the Workplace Relations Commission after a compromise was reached. The proceedings were reported on 20 February 2024.

Greene had claimed that RTÉ penalised him as a whistleblower and dismissed him after he raised allegations of sexual harassment in the workplace. His barrister, David Byrnes BL, told the WRC that a compromise had been reached and that Greene was withdrawing all claims, including those concerning protected disclosures.

The proceedings were brought under the Unfair Dismissals Act, the Protected Disclosures Act and the Payment of Wages Act. RTÉ contested all the claims.

At a preliminary hearing in November 2023, Byrnes said Greene had raised concerns about alleged sexual harassment and impropriety with 2FM chief Dan Healy. He said Greene had been marginalised at work before his dismissal.

RTÉ’s barrister, Mairead McKenna SC, said the broadcaster disputed that Greene was an employee and argued that the penalisation claim in his legal submissions was unclear. The WRC was also told that RTÉ was appealing a Department of Social Protection Scope section determination that Greene had been an employee at the relevant time.
