This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Charles Twesigye’s appeal against his conviction for possessing cocaine for sale or supply was dismissed by the Court of Appeal on 13 May 2015, with his convictions affirmed.

He had also been convicted of possessing a controlled drug, while the jury acquitted him of possessing drugs worth €13,000 or more for sale or supply.

The court held that his detention and the admission of interview evidence were lawful, and found that the jury’s verdicts could reasonably have been reached.

Twesigye had received a package containing 2,042.3 grams of cocaine, with an estimated street value exceeding €140,000, during a controlled delivery in Lucan on 28 August 2012.

He had been sentenced in January 2014 to six years’ imprisonment with the final three years suspended on one count, and 10 years with the final three suspended on another, to run concurrently.
