By Ronan Judge, Connacht Tribune

A man will be sentenced at Galway Circuit Court later this year after pleading guilty to two burglaries in the Headford Road area.

Andrew O'Hagan (36), with a former address at 34 Ballinfoyle Park, Headford Road, and who is currently in custody, entered signed guilty pleas at Galway District Court to two offences contrary to section 12 Theft and Fraud Offences Act.

He admitted that on dates between December 23 andDecember 28, 2024, he entered a property in Sceilg Ard, Headford Road, and committed theft.

He pleaded guilty to carrying out a similar burglary offence at Ros Na Shee, Castlelawn Heights, on December 29, 2024.

Solicitor Olivia Traynor confirmed to the court her client was entering signed guilty pleas to the charges.

She said Mr O'Hagan was in custody and had not applied for bail on these charges.

Sergeant Christy Browne told the court the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) consented to the accused being sent forward to Galway Circuit Criminal Court for sentencing.

Judge Valerie Corcoran delivered the alibi warning, informing the accused that if his defence in any relied on an alibi, then details should be supplied to the State Solicitor within 14 days.

The accused was remanded in custody to appear at Galway Circuit Court on March 23.
