The Central Criminal Court trial of Celyn Eadon, charged with murdering his mother, had begun, with the prosecution referring to evidence involving his brother Ferdia.
Eadon pleaded not guilty to murder but guilty to manslaughter. The proceedings were reported on 24 January 2014.
The prosecution said the jury would hear that Ferdia went to bed at 10.20pm, woke to muffled screaming and found Noreen Kelly bleeding in the living room.
The defence accepted that Eadon killed his mother and had been lawfully arrested and detained, but maintained that he denied murder.
