Brian O’Donnell failed to overturn his bankruptcy in the High Court, in a decision reported on 16 April 2015. The court also ordered him and Dr Mary Patricia to leave their Killiney mansion within two weeks.
Ms Justice Caroline Costello ruled the couple had not produced new evidence supporting annulment. She rejected the argument that Bank of Ireland Private Banking’s status undermined the bankruptcy, finding no fraud or concealment had been established.
The judge said the couple had had earlier opportunities to raise those arguments and that permitting them to do so would breach established procedural rules. Mr O’Donnell said he would appeal.
