Barry Cull brought Payment of Wages Act 1991 complaints against BHA Construction Ltd before the Workplace Relations Commission, reported on 11 January 2024. He challenged a €620 deduction from his final pay for a laptop damaged by spilled tea and claimed €750 in gross wages for his last three days.
Cull said he had worked those days and that the clock-in system appeared not to have registered him. The company said its system recorded him on only two days and required staff to contact head office after a failed clock-in.
Adjudicator Christina Ryan closed the hearing and was to issue a written decision to the parties.
