Bail revoked for Wicklow teen linked to death of William Moorehouse
The Wicklow PeopleA Wicklow teenager has had his bail revoked after allegedly breaching multiple bail conditions while awaiting trial in connection with the death of a local man earlier this year.
Kyle O’Connor (18), of 15 Ballywaltrim Heights, Bray, Co. Wicklow, appeared before Wicklow Circuit Court on an application to have his bail revoked.
O’Connor is currently on bail in relation to two charges of violent disorder and the production of an article. These charges are connected to the death of William “Willie” Moorehouse, a father-of-six who was found dead in a playground in Bray on January 19, 2025.
The court heard from Detective Garda Ger Brennan that on October 18, 2025, Mr O’Connor was arrested in connection with an incident in Wicklow town that occurred at 10:34pm, which is after his court-imposed curfew. The court was informed that O’Connor was identified near the scene.
It was also alleged that O’Connor was intoxicated at the time of his arrest, which constitutes another breach of his bail conditions.
The court further heard that O’Connor is required to reside in Coolock and sign on three times per week at the local garda station. Since his last appearance at Bray District Court in September, he has reportedly signed on only six times.
Defence counsel Edmund Sweetman BL, instructed by Joe Maguire of Maguire McNiece Solicitors, told the court that his client had undergone a psychiatric assessment. A report handed into court stated that O’Connor is not fit to enter a plea.
Judge Patrick Quinn revoked O’Connor’s bail and remanded him in custody to appear again for mention at Wicklow Circuit Court on November 11.
His co-accused in the Moorehouse case are also due back before the same court next month, except for Patrick Fitzpatrick (32), of 136 Heather Hall, Kilruddery Glen, Bray, Co. Wicklow, who is charged with murder and will stand trial at the Central Criminal Court in Dublin.
