Aoife Maguire pleads not guilty to hiding Anglo accounts

By Eimear Byrne

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Aoife Maguire has pleaded not guilty to charges of trying to hide accounts connected to former Anglo chairman Sean FitzPatrick at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, reported on 16 June 2015. She and Bernard Daly and Tiarnan O'Mahoney are accused of concealing accounts from Revenue between March 2003 and December 2004.

The prosecution alleges that Mr O’Toole’s name was omitted from a list of non-resident accounts and that records relating to several accounts were targeted for deletion. The trial heard evidence about a potential conflict of interest involving the bank fraud officer appointed to examine the archiving issue. The trial was continuing before Judge Patrick McCartan.
