Andrei Marian Dobra appeared at a special court sitting in Trim on 14 November 2022, charged with murdering Ioana Mihaela Pacala, 30.

The charge concerned an alleged murder at their address at River Wall Court, Fairyhouse Road, Ratoath, on 12 November 2022. The report said Ms Pacala’s body was discovered at an apartment that day.

Detective Garda Michelle O’Brien said that, when charged, Dobra replied: “I’m so sorry for that. It shouldn’t have happened.”

Defending solicitor Maurice Regan said Dobra would not apply for bail. He requested a psychiatric assessment and report while his client was in custody, saying Dobra had indicated suicidal tendencies.

Judge Miriam Walsh granted the request and remanded Dobra in custody to appear by video link at Trim District Court on Thursday.

This report covers an earlier stage of the case. Later developments are not reported here.
