Alan Harte was unanimously acquitted of murdering Peter Gunn in April 2014. He was found guilty of assisting in the disposal of Peter Gunn’s body. Prosecuting counsel Paul Coffey SC outlined those verdicts to the court on 19 May 2014. The proceedings were reported on 20 May 2014.

Alan Harte, 33, of Clareville Grove, Glasnevin, pleaded not guilty to murder. The charge related to the killing of Peter Gunn, 28, in Phibsborough on 4 January 2009.

Kastriot Boza was found guilty of impeding the Garda investigation into Peter Gunn’s murder. He pleaded guilty. Mr Justice Carney sentenced Kastriot Boza to six years, with the final two years suspended because of his guilty plea.

On 19 May 2014, Det Sgt Alan Brady told the court that Alan Harte had 170 previous convictions. Defence counsel Patrick Marrinan SC said Alan Harte had lacked parental guidance while growing up. The court also heard that a letter Alan Harte sent to the Gunn family expressed remorse.
