AIB lending manager Alan Ecock’s unfair dismissal and redundancy complaints were rejected by the Workplace Relations Commission in a decision reported on 18 February 2025.

Adjudicator John Harraghy found the bank had more than reasonable grounds to believe Mr Ecock had engaged in misconduct, and that dismissal was proportionate after he repeatedly failed to give an honest explanation about his pub work and access to internal banking systems.
