Aiden McKevitt was sentenced to three years at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court for assaulting a peace officer during the execution of their duties and obstructing a peace officer. He pleaded guilty to both offences.

The offences occurred at Dominic Street Lower on 9 November 2022. Judge Pauline Codd said the headline sentence was four years before mitigation, including the guilty plea, was considered, and backdated the three-year sentence to his custody in February 2023.

The defence said McKevitt was heavily intoxicated while celebrating his birthday, had issues with alcohol and had experienced domestic violence growing up; it also said he had been angered after being attacked earlier that day. The proceedings were reported on 18 July 2023.
