This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.
Adil Muhammad was ordered to complete 240 hours of community service at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on 11 February 2020. The order was imposed in lieu of a four-year prison sentence for his role in providing fake passports to six Afghan nationals in 2018.
Muhammad pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of false passports dated 15 January 2018. The proceedings were reported on 11 February 2020.
Judge Martin Nolan warned Muhammad that he would serve the four-year prison sentence if he failed to complete the community service.
The judge said Muhammad had involved himself in a human trafficking scheme, but there was no evidence that he had profited. He said Muhammad became involved after a family friend asked him to do so, and that the explanation of misplaced loyalty had been offered and not contradicted.
