Accused of having cannabis and growing plants in big Offaly town
A MAN accused of possessing cannabis and illegally growing cannabis plants has appeared before Tullamore District Court.
Wiktor Stanko (30), Green Street, Birr, is alleged to have possessed cannabis at 1 Green Street, Birr on August 26 last.
Mr Stanko is also alleged to have possessed the drug for sale or supply to others and to have cultivated cannabis plants.
Sergeant Brendan Kearns said the indicative value of the alleged drugs was €9,500 and he sought more time for directions from the DPP.
When he appeared before Judge Andrew Cody, the accused man only spoke to say his solicitor was not in court.
Judge Cody remanded him on continuing bail to appear in court again on January 1 next for DPP directions.
