'Utter stupidity': criminal who intimidated victim knowing gardai were present is jailed

Outcome: Passing sentence today, Judge John Martin said that in considering the appropriate sentence he had regard to the evidence given by gardai and also had the benefit of a letter written by McMullen's mother and other documents handed to the court. Judge Martin sentenced McMullen to two years for assault causing harm and sentenced him to two and a half years for the count of intimidation of a witness with the final 18 months suspended.
