Almost 20,000 medical procedures were cancelled at Ennis Hospital over the past two and a half years, Clare FM reports. Patients cancelled over 10,500 procedures, while roughly 850 were postponed for reasons linked to overcrowding at University Hospital Limerick. The report also raises concerns about reliance on agency staff. Ennis Fianna Fáil councillor and HSE Regional Health Forum MidWest member Antoinette Baker Bashua told Clare FM that all avenues should be explored to manage consultant and patient time effectively.
