Childminder to stand trial for second time accused of causing serious harm to baby
A childminder from Cavan is to stand trial for a second time at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court next May on a charge of intentionally or recklessly causing serious harm to a ten-month-old baby in March 2012. Sandra Higgins, aged 34, of The Beeches, Drumgola Wood, Cavan town, denies the allegation. A previous jury trial concluded last month without reaching a verdict.
