the change of use of The Old Schoolhouse (a Protected Structure, RPS Ref. 370), from former school use to a private dwelling house, and planning permission for the sensitive renovation and enhancement works to restore the building’s historic form, architectural character, and material quality. Works to include the installation of new heritage-style timber sash windows and doors; re-plastering of external walls with traditional lime plaster; replacement of existing rainwater goods with cast iron half-round gutters and round downpipes; and re-roofing with natural slate and heritage clay ridge tiles. Elevational alterations are proposed to the sides and rear to include new window and door opes and rooflights to the new roof to provide fire egress. Internal works include the installation of new floors and the formation of a new first floor to accommodate bedrooms. The development also includes the decommissioning of the existing septic tank, installation of a new wastewater treatment system, and the construction of new entrance piers and splayed boundary walls to the existing entrance, together with all associated and ancillary site works
