Full description from the council file
A 20 Year Planning Permission for The proposed development will consist of land restoration works at Coppingerstown Quarry. The extent of the proposed development covers an area of 18.48 hectares (‘ha’) (centre point ITM X 590369 Y 572439) within Roadstone’s Landholding, which is located within the townlands of Carrigshane and Coppingerstown, Co. Cork. The proposed development will include the construction of an inspection shed, the decommissioning and removal of minor structures, diesel / waste oil tanks and bunds at Coppingerstown Quarry and the restoration of Coppingerstown Quarry (previously extracted under Planning Reference 18/7131) to pre-extraction levels through the importation of clean, uncontaminated soil and stone material notified / registered as by-product in accordance with the definition of a by-product as set out in Regulation 27 of the European Communities (Waste Directive) Regulations 2011 (as amended). The proposed development will also involve the decommissioning and removal of an ESB substation and three electrical control rooms in consultation with ESB as part of restoration measures. The restored land will include mixed-species agricultural grassland, native woodland planting, re-instated hedgerows, the introduction of a wet meadow, two surface water ponds and the retention of boundary scrub to transition to immature woodland. These habitats will support local biodiversity. A planning permission of 20 years from the date of commencement is being sought for the proposed development. An Environmental Impact Assessment Report (EIAR) will be submitted to the Planning Authority with the application.
