Senior Custom House Capital execs get date for sentencing hearing

Four senior executives of Custom House Capital pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to conspiracy to defraud investors during the period between October 2008 and July 2011. Harry Cassidy, the former chief executive, along with former head of private clients John Whyte and head of finance Paul Lavery, admitted to intentionally misleading clients regarding the placement of their assets. Non-executive director John Mulholland pleaded guilty to neglectful discharge of his directorial duties in relation to the company's dishonest conduct. All four are scheduled to appear before Judge Orla Crowe on 21 April for sentencing, with the hearing expected to conclude within one day. Separately, Ciara Kelleher, the firm's former senior portfolio relationship manager, will face retrial in January 2025 after a jury failed to reach a verdict on her conspiracy to defraud charge. She maintains her not-guilty plea.
