Mulready-Woods murder accused served with non-jury court trial notice

Two men charged with the murder of a teenager in County Louth have been formally notified that their trial will proceed in the Special Criminal Court, a non-jury forum. Paul Crosby, aged 25, of Rathmullan Park, Drogheda, and Gerard Cruise, aged 47, with addresses in Dublin and Rathmullan Park, face charges relating to the death of a 17-year-old at a house in Rathmullan Park in January 2020. Both appeared before the court on Friday, where gardaí served them with documentation confirming the State's intention to prosecute the matter before three judges without a jury. Crosby remains in custody, while Cruise continues on bail conditions set previously by the High Court. The court has scheduled a further appearance for 19 July, at which a trial date may be established. The investigation into the death involved an extensive search operation spanning several months, during which remains were recovered from multiple locations across Dublin and Louth.
