A man from Dublin has been sentenced to three years and three months imprisonment following his conviction for possessing signal jamming devices used to facilitate car break-ins. Daniel Polanski, aged 33, of Charlestown Place, Finglas, pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to possessing three signal blockers on 7 March 2017. He also admitted to possessing crowbars, torches, binoculars and pen-knives intended for use in theft. Gardaí recovered the items during a vehicle stop on St Margaret's Road in Finglas, along with a USB stick and an iPod stolen from other vehicles. Polanski carries 72 previous convictions, including 40 for theft and 16 offences committed in Poland. Judge Karen O'Connor imposed the sentence. Two additional counts relating to stolen electronic devices were taken into account.
