Witness tells murder trial of discovering brother's "smashed" body

At the Central Criminal Court, a jury in a murder trial heard evidence from the brother of the deceased, who discovered his sibling's badly beaten body at Westside Apartments in Letterkenny, County Donegal on May 13, 2013. The witness described finding furniture smashed and blood throughout the apartment. Dariusz Weckowicz, aged 51, and Krzysztof Grzegorski, aged 22, face charges in connection with the death of Bogdan Michalkiewicz, 41. Mr Weckowicz has pleaded not guilty to murder. Mr Grzegorski has pleaded not guilty to murder but guilty to manslaughter, a plea the State declined to accept. A neighbour gave evidence that he heard raised voices and sounds of furniture being moved from the apartment on the afternoon in question. The trial before Justice Patrick McCarthy continues.
