Sligo men to stand trial accused of IRA membership
Summary
Two men from County Sligo have been sent forward for trial at the Special Criminal Court on charges of membership of an unlawful organisation. Damhan McFadden, aged 27, of Kilmacowen, Ballysodare, and Julian Flohr, aged 35, of Rusheen Ard, Caltra, face allegations relating to events on 14 August. The State's counsel confirmed that the book of evidence had been furnished to the accused. Mr Justice Tony Hunt, presiding with Judge John O'Hagan and Judge Ann Ryan, scheduled the trial to commence on 12 February 2018, with proceedings expected to span two weeks. Both men were remanded in custody pending trial.
