A woman with a last address in Finisklin, Sligo, has been returned to prison after breaching the conditions of a suspended sentence imposed by the Central Criminal Court. The 30-year-old had previously pleaded guilty to impeding the prosecution of her brother for murder by staging a suicide to make it appear as though the victim had taken his own life. She had been sentenced to four years in November 2019 but was released on condition she reside with her father in Ballyshannon, County Donegal. Mr Justice Michael White heard that she has since been charged with 33 offences, primarily for shoplifting in Dublin, and has failed to notify probation services of changes of address on multiple occasions. Evidence indicated she was no longer in long-term accommodation and was consuming crack cocaine and heroin. Having declined to seek bail, she accepted activation of the remaining ten months of her original sentence.
