Attacker twice jailed for assault on ex threatened her on day of release

Outcome: Judge Cormac Quinn sentenced Gantley on July 31 last to three years' imprisonment, with the final 12 months suspended for a period of two years, during which he was ordered not to make any contact with the victim. Defence counsel said that Gantley had said "he would leave her alone for the rest of her life." Judge Quinn elected not to reactivate the suspended portion of the sentence.

Jail for man who twice attacked ex-partner in four days

Outcome: Judge Cormac Quinn sentenced Gantley to three years with the final 12 months suspended for a period of two years during which he can make no contact with the victim. Sandra Frayne BL, defending, said that Gantley had recently been released from prison after a 26 month sentence and that his former partner had not visited him while incarcerated.
