Limerick men to stand trial for IRA membership tomorrow
Summary
Two Limerick men, Thomas McMahon, 31, and Noel Noonan, 34, were scheduled to stand trial at the Special Criminal Court for IRA membership. The prosecution had supplied a large quantity of disclosure and additional evidence to the defence in the days before the hearing. Counsel for Noonan requested a delay, and the presiding judge, Mr Justice Paul Butler, adjourned the trial to Wednesday. Both men are charged with membership of the Irish Republican Army, an unlawful organisation, as of 7 February 2013.
