Anne Fennell, 57, pleaded guilty in Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to sending obscene phone messages to Aras an Uachtarain, the Department of Finance, the European Commission Representation, An Post Dublin Mail Centre and the constituency offices of TDs Alan Kelly, Aodhan O Riordain and Noel Coonan between 2 February and 1 December 2014, and to harassing Fr Desmond Byrne at his home in Clondalkin between September and October 2006. She also admitted to making persistent annoying phone calls and sending obscene or menacing messages to the president's office and to the European Commission. Fennell had no prior convictions. Judge Melanie Greally heard evidence of a campaign of harassment, including threats to bomb the president and repeated nuisance calls to the priest, and noted that Fennell had made significant improvements to her living conditions since January. The case was adjourned to next November with an updated probation and psychological report required.
